Job summary

Xoriant is seeking a highly skilled embedded software engineer in San Jose, CA to develop and optimize C/C++ code for motion sensor and positioning algorithms within our embedded software stack.

The role involves improving efficiency, tuning parameters to meet customer KPIs, and developing tools for analysis, with opportunities to collaborate across teams and present technical reports. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Applied physics, Aeronautical Engineering or related field.
• Embedded software development in C/C++ with rapid prototyping in Python or MATLAB.
• Hands-on experience in Motion Sensor software development, Kalman Filter, GNSS/MEMS integration and sensor fusion.
• Experience with Jira, Gerrit, Git.
• Ability to analyze complex software to identify anomalies and potential improvements.
• Understanding of VIO (Vision Inertial Odometry) is a plus.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work with minimal supervision in a collaborative environment.
• Fast learning, hard-working, and self-driven.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize C/C++ code for the Motion Sensor and/or Positioning algorithms within our embedded software solution.
• Improve the software implementation for efficiency in code footprint, throughput, and CPU/RAM usage.
• Optimize parameters in the software solution to improve KPIs per customer requirements and target use cases.
• Develop necessary software tools for analysis.
• Collaborate with teams within and outside the organization for best product outcomes.
• Prepare and present detailed technical reports on algorithms, software, and test results.
• Algorithm development may include pedestrian navigation, Dead Reckoning, vehicular navigation, and GNSS-enabled scenarios to enhance KPIs.
• Travel internationally and/or domestically to support product optimization and collaboration.
