Job summary

DuckDuckGo is seeking a Senior C++/Chromium Engineer to lead high-impact projects on the browser core, using modern C++ and Chromium. You will own projects end-to-end, from proposal through post-mortem, and collaborate with design and product mostly asynchronously to deliver privacy-focused features.

You will work on large-scale C++ codebases, with an emphasis on performance, memory management, and concurrency, while contributing to a culture of trust and ownership.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Advanced modern C++ expertise (C++23 or newer).
• Experience driving technical work end-to-end on large-scale C++ codebases.
• Comfort with large build systems, debuggers, and profilers.
• Experience shipping software to a large consumer audience.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex projects from proposal through post-mortem.
• Build features in a large modern C++ codebase.
