Job summary

DXC Technology Company seeks a Senior C Linux Application and Systems Technical Lead to guide a major enterprise modernization initiative. You will own diagnostics, performance tuning, and governance across large C/C++ codebases, including legacy/mainframe migrations to Linux and cloud environments.

You will act as a senior escalation point, mentoring teams, driving tech debt remediation, and ensuring operational readiness.

About the Role

DXC Technology is seeking a Senior C Linux Application and Systems Technical Lead to serve as a Techno Functional Lead on a critical enterprise application modernization initiative. This role is central to the stability, performance, and evolution of large, mature, and highly interconnected C/C++ codebases, many of which are tied to mission‑critical, high‑volume transaction processing environments such as airline Passenger Service Systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise and the authority to guide design and implementation decisions across a complex technical landscape. In this role, you will act as a senior technical escalation point, providing hands‑on troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and technical governance across builds and releases. You will work closely with developers and specialist subject matter experts to resolve complex runtime, memory, threading, and system behavior issues, while also driving remediation of technical debt and improvements in code quality and system stability. Experience with TPF and mainframe modernization is highly valuable, as this role supports the migration and re‑platforming of legacy/mainframe applications to Linux and cloud environments. This is a high‑impact position for an experienced technical leader who thrives in complex, mission‑critical environments and is passionate about operational excellence, knowledge transfer, and technical mentorship.

Essential Job Functions

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within large, mature, and highly interconnected C/C++ codebases
• Lead code-review and PR-review processes with the authority to challenge design and implementation decisions
• Diagnose complex runtime, memory, threading, compiler‑warning, and application behavior issues
• Perform deep root‑cause analysis across application code, services, logs, and transaction flows
• Conduct Linux troubleshooting including application, services, and log analysis
• Troubleshoot connectors, interfaces, communication layers, and distributed systems
• Provide technical governance for builds and releases, including assessment of code changes prior to merge/release
• Lead technical‑debt remediation and code‑quality/stability improvement initiatives
• Function as a senior technical escalation point, coordinating developers and specialist SMEs to reach technical decisions
• Develop and maintain documentation to support knowledge transfer, operational readiness, and system troubleshooting

Basic Qualifications

• Strong hands‑on C/C++ and legacy enterprise application expertise (preferably Mainframe migrations)
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot large, mature, highly interconnected C codebases
• Strong code‑review / PR-review capability with authority to challenge design and implementation
• Experience diagnosing complex runtime, memory, threading, compiler‑warning, and application behavior issues
• Strong Linux troubleshooting, including application/services/log analysis
• Experience with connectors, interfaces, communication layers, and distributed system troubleshooting
• Ability to perform deep root‑cause analysis across application code, services, logs and transaction flows
• Experience providing technical governance for builds/releases, including assessment of code changes before merge/release
• Able to lead technical‑debt, code‑quality and stability remediation, not just new feature development
• Capable of functioning as a senior technical escalation point, coordinating developers and specialist SMEs to reach technical decisions
• Strong documentation and knowledge‑transfer capability, especially for operational readiness, troubleshooting and system support
• ZTPF experience is mandatory

Other Qualifications

• Airline industry / Passenger Service System experience, particularly reservation, inventory, availability, ticketing or airline host environments
• Prior experience with airline transaction‑processing or other high‑volume, mission‑critical systems
• TPF / mainframe modernization or re‑platforming experience would be highly valuable
• Experience supporting systems where legacy/mainframe applications are being migrated or re‑platformed to Linux/cloud environments
• Familiarity with Azure, PostgreSQL, and modern observability/tooling is useful

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job‑related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $84,400 - $156,800.
