Job summary

DXC Technology is seeking a senior software engineer with strong Azure/DevOps experience to manage cloud resources, pipelines, and monitoring. The role emphasizes collaboration, scripting, and hands-on troubleshooting across a Windows/Linux stack.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years in software engineering, 2+ years in a similar role, and solid knowledge of Azure services, GitHub workflows, and C programming.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; relevant experience considered
• 6+ years in the software/engineering domain, with 2+ years in a similar role
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
• Hands-on shell scripting experience (Bash)
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services, VMs, monitoring, and dashboards
• Knowledge of Git and GitHub workflows (branches, PRs, merges)
• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, builds, deployments
• Understanding of application monitoring, log analysis, and incident troubleshooting
• Basic C programming knowledge
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

About the Role

Essential Job Functions

• Manage and monitor Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, dashboards, and alerting systems
• Collaborate using Git and GitHub for version control, including branching, commits, pull requests, and merges
• Apply basic C programming knowledge to support engineering and troubleshooting tasks

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role in software engineering
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
• Hands-on shell scripting experience, preferably Bash
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, virtual machines, monitoring, and dashboards
• Working knowledge of Git and GitHub, including branches, commits, pull requests, and merges
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines, builds, and deployments
• Good understanding of application monitoring, log analysis, and incident troubleshooting
• Basic C programming knowledge
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

Other Qualifications

• Experience with ServiceNow for Incident, Request, and Change Management
• Experience developing automated monitoring and remediation solutions
• Exposure to Azure alerts and observability dashboards
• Knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Knowledge Management
• Experience preparing runbooks and delivering technical knowledge-transfer sessions

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $84,400 - $156,800.

Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
