Ascentt is seeking a hands-on C/C++ Software Engineer to design, build and maintain high-quality software for automotive and manufacturing applications. You will own features end-to-end—from requirements and design through implementation, testing and release—as part of a collaborative engineering team.

The role emphasizes memory management, multithreading, and performance in Linux environments (GCC/Clang, GDB, Make/CMake), with a strong focus on OO design, STL and modern C++ practices.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field, with 4+ years of experience, or a Master’s with 2+ years.
• Strong hands-on development in C and C++, including memory management, pointers, data structures and algorithms.
• Experience in Linux-based environments (GCC/Clang, GDB, Make/CMake).
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns and the STL.
• Experience with multithreading, concurrency and performance optimization.
• Experience with unit/integration/regression/system-level tests and with Git/Jira workflows.

Aufgaben

• Design, develop and maintain production-quality software in C and C++ (C++11/14/17 or later).
• Translate requirements into clean software designs and well-structured code.
• Apply OO design, patterns and STL to build modular components.
• Write efficient, memory-safe code with attention to memory management and performance.
• Develop and debug in Linux using GCC/Clang, GDB and Make/CMake.
• Develop and execute unit, integration and regression tests.
• Profile and troubleshoot defects using Valgrind, sanitizers and static analysis.
• Maintain design docs and requirements traceability (Jama Connect or comparable tools).
• Contribute to code reviews, standards, static analysis and CI/CD with Git, Jenkins and Python.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, product and stakeholders to deliver on schedule.
