Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) seeks a Senior C++ Software Developer to support the NIH/NLM’s NCBI at Bethesda, MD. This full-time role may be onsite at NIH-NCBI or remote, serving a premier biomedical data platform and multiple repositories.

You will develop, test, and maintain bioinformatics software and information retrieval systems, collaborating with scientists and developers to implement efficient algorithms. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, testing, and cloud concepts is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience handling large amounts of data or working in a distributed computing environment.
• Programming experience in a Linux environment.
• Proficiency in C++.
• Experience with MS SQL Server and relational database design and optimization.
• Fluency in scripting languages such as Bash, csh, Perl, or Python.

Responsabilités

• Responsible for the development, implementation, testing, and continued maintenance of NCBI bioinformatics software and information retrieval systems.
• Work with a diverse group of scientists, bioinformaticians and other developers across the center to implement efficient bioinformatics algorithms.
• Learn new technologies, keep up with internal systems, and share your knowledge with the team.
