Job summary

Plug Power Inc. seeks a Lead Buyer to procure parts for manufacturing and lead a small buying team. You will manage supplier relationships, ensure on-time delivery, and drive procurement strategy to support critical business functions.

The ideal candidate has advanced degrees or substantial manufacturing experience, excels in cross-functional collaboration, and can manage multiple priorities with strong communication and follow-through.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Engineering, Business, or related field with 2+ years of experience; tech manufacturing preferred.
• Or a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related work experience; tech manufacturing preferred.
• Demonstrated analytical abilities and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage a small team of buyers and set expectations.
• Place purchase orders to procure material for manufacturing.
• Develop relationships with suppliers and negotiate terms.
• Ensure on-time delivery and resolve supplier issues.
• Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams on POs and schedules.
