Job summary

Plug Power in the United States is seeking a Senior Buyer to procure parts for manufacturing and lead the purchasing team. You will build strong supplier relations, manage schedules, and drive sourcing strategies to improve quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. You will mentor junior buyers and align procurement with finance and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 5+ years of related work experience.
• Experience in a technology manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Superior communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders to procure material in support of manufacturing and other business functions.
• Build and maintain cross-functional supplier relationships; communicate timelines and activities.
• Understand build schedules and manage supply chain activities to increase efficiency.
• Follow up on POs with suppliers and manage delivery date expectations with stakeholders.
• Understand material specs and quality metrics; resolve supplier quality issues.
• Develop relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and manage supplier performance.
• Mentor and advise the purchasing team and train new staff.
• Collaborate with Finance to resolve supplier payment issues.
