Job summary

Plug Power is seeking a Sr. Buyer to support manufacturing by procuring parts and leading the purchasing team.

The role emphasizes strong supplier relationships, cross-functional collaboration, and timely, accurate transactional work to ensure critical tasks and projects are completed. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business with 5+ years in technology manufacturing, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and proficiency in Excel to drive procurement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent with 5+ years related experience.
• Experience in technology manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders to procure materials for manufacturing and other functions.
• Build and maintain cross-functional relationships to understand timelines and actions impacting supply chain.
• Understand build schedules and manage supply chain activities to reduce downtime.
• Ensure accurate and on-time delivery of parts; follow up on PO's with suppliers.
• Resolve quality issues with suppliers through collaboration.
• Develop strong supplier relationships and manage date pull-ins/push-outs.
• Mentor and advise purchasing staff; train new team members.
• Negotiate favorable terms and conditions to positively impact pricing and payment terms.
• Track supplier performance and adjust supplier base as needed for results.
• Collaborate with finance to resolve supplier payment issues.
• Represent Plug Power professionally in all interactions.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
