Job summary

Nordson EFD is seeking an experienced procurement professional to join our team in Rhode Island. You will coordinate material purchases and manage supplier relationships to support manufacturing, quality objectives, and cost targets.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, 5–10 years of related experience, SAP proficiency, and strong analytical and communication skills. Collaboration with sales, engineering, and operations is essential to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Five to ten years related experience.
• Knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
• ERP software, SAP preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and engineering specs.
• Strong written and verbal communication; team player.

Responsibilities

• Analyze system generated demand signals to determine material requirements and generate purchase orders.
• Coordinate all procurement activities from intent to purchase through delivery.
• Meet regularly with suppliers and address major supplier issues.
• Ensure materials/services are delivered on schedule, at negotiated price and quality.
• Liaise with customer service, sales, marketing, engineering, quality and manufacturing.
• Lead supply chain risk assessments and countermeasures.
• Develop and manage supplier relationships and negotiate cost.
• Deploy specs and standards for ECO changes to suppliers.
• Maintain timely control of orders and related documentation.
