Job summary

QCC, LLC is a manufacturing services provider in Schiller Park, IL seeking a Buyer/Planner to manage purchasing and production coordination for hydraulic assemblies. The role releases job orders, negotiates with suppliers and drives cost reduction while aligning production with material plans.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 5+ years in purchasing or operations, with strong data interpretation and ERP/Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or equivalent.
• Analytical mindset with self-motivation.
• Problem-solver able to interpret raw data for leadership.
• Open, positive, and team-oriented demeanor.
• Strong computer and typing skills.
• 5+ years' experience in purchasing, supply chain, and/or operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews production plans for multiple production cells & releases job orders.
• Places purchase orders and expedites materials as required to support production schedules.
• Works toward annual cost reduction goals and improves supplier lead times.
• Assesses, establishes & maintains capacities of work cells through planning data.
• Submit internal reports daily on finished goods commitments to customers.
• Ensures production schedules align with material schedules to optimize supply chain goals.
• Negotiates with suppliers for materials and services by achieving the lowest total cost.
• Adheres to Purchasing Good Practices when dealing with suppliers.
• Creates and submits RFQs to suppliers and follows up as necessary.
• Communicates with suppliers regularly and participates in on-site meetings.
