Job summary

Lithium Americas is seeking a Buyer to join our team at the Winnemucca office. You will execute the full purchasing cycle to support site operations, maintenance, and projects—sourcing, evaluating, and procuring materials, equipment, and consumables.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will manage POs in the ERP system, monitor deliveries, and collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to optimize costs and ensure timely supply for our Nevada site.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years in purchasing within mining or heavy industry.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; combination of education and experience considered.
• Experience with MSAs, terms, and contracting basics.
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation and record-keeping.
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure materials and equipment per requisitions.
• Prepare RFQs and evaluate vendor bids for best value.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms.
• Create and manage Purchase Orders in the ERP system.
• Track open POs and expedite urgent needs.
• Maintain supplier relations and monitor performance.
