Job summary

Axcelis Technologies is seeking a Senior Buyer in Beverly, MA (Hybrid). You will own end‑to‑end procurement for high‑value commodities, collaborating with domestic and international suppliers to drive cost, delivery, and performance for advanced semiconductor manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Experience managing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and supporting manufacturing environments.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an individual contributor in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze purchase requisitions; generate RFQs and execute purchase orders for assigned suppliers
• Manage purchase order delivery schedules to support manufacturing and operational plans
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of procurement and supplier data within ERP and supply chain management systems
• Monitor cost, delivery performance, and quality for assigned parts and suppliers to ensure optimal value and quality
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements; manage purchase price variance (PPV) against standard cost
• Identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities, including identifying new suppliers, volume procurement discount opportunities and tariff mitigation. Utilize total cost analysis to deliver cost reductions.
• Identify new supply sources when existing suppliers are no longer competitive, do not meet performance requirements or present supply risks.
• Evaluate and recommend cost-saving initiatives such as alternative sourcing and make-versus-buy decisions
• Partner with Quality to resolve supplier quality and performance issues
• Collaborate with management on commodity strategies, provide market trend analysis, develop pricing strategies, and address supplier capacity and delivery risks
• Maintain domestic and/or global commodity expertise; support supplier visits and sourcing activities as required
• Travel domestically and internationally to meet with suppliers and potential new suppliers may be required.
