Job summary

Crane in Wisconsin seeks a Buyer II to manage day-to-day procurement for custom-engineered skid systems. You will transform project requirements and BOMs into sourcing plans, place and expedite purchase orders, and coordinate with suppliers to meet schedules and specifications.

You will work with Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance to ensure materials are delivered on time and at target costs, proactively identifying material risks before they impact delivery

Qualifications

Associate degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
3–5 years purchasing/procurement in a manufacturing setting.
Experience with engineered-to-order or make-to-order environments preferred.
Experience purchasing mechanical or industrial components preferred.
Ability to manage POs end-to-end and resolve issues.
Experience with quotations, proposals, and price/delivery negotiation.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP and inventory transactions.

Responsibilities

Handle day-to-day procurement and supplier coordination for custom-engineered skid systems.
Convert project requirements and BOMs into actionable purchasing plans.
Place, track, and expedite purchase orders; resolve supplier issues.
Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP and support project schedules and tech specs.
Anticipate material risks and adjust procurement priorities to protect fabrication and delivery commitments.
