Role Summary

The Senior Buyer – Electronic Components & Supply Chain will own strategic procurement of the power semiconductors, microcontrollers, FPGAs, isolated interfaces, high-voltage capacitors, and connectors that sit at the heart of Allocor.tech’s products. This is a high-impact role for a supply chain professional who thrives in a fast-moving aerospace environment and wants real ownership of risk reduction, compliance, and material availability. You will act as a true partner to engineering—challenging designs on cost, availability, and second-source options—while ensuring full AS9100 and NDAA discipline so our programs stay on schedule and audit-ready.

Strategic Sourcing & Risk Management

• Own dual-sourcing, alternate qualification, and long-term agreements for critical power and compute components under allocation and long-lead conditions.
• Build and maintain preferred-supplier lists and single-source risk matrices for MOSFETs/SiC, STM32 MCUs, FPGAs, isolated interfaces, high-voltage capacitors, and connectors.
• Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) decisions that protect schedule, quality, and reliability in a low-volume / high-mix environment.

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain clean, audit-ready AS9100 documentation including supplier qualification, AS9102 First Article Inspection, AS5553 counterfeit prevention, and full traceability.
• Ensure full NDAA
• 889, DFARS, and country-of-origin compliance with U.S./allied source preference and supporting documentation.
• Own supplier audits and corrective-action processes end-to-end.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Operations

• Partner daily with electrical, firmware, and mechanical engineering to influence designs for availability, cost, and second-source viability.
• Manage inventory optimization from prototype through low-rate production using ERP/MRP systems (Fishbowl strongly preferred).
• Deliver on-time material availability for engineering builds and production while reducing expedite spend.

Qualifications Required

• 5+ years of strategic electronic component procurement with significant aerospace, defense, or high-reliability power electronics experience.
• Proven ownership of power semiconductors (MOSFETs/SiC), STM32 MCUs, FPGAs, isolated interfaces, high-voltage capacitors & connectors under allocation / long-lead conditions.
• Hands‑on AS9100 experience: supplier qualification, AS9102 First Article, counterfeit prevention (AS5553), and full traceability.
• Working knowledge of NDAA (especially
• 889), DFARS, country-of-origin tracking, and compliant documentation.
• Demonstrated success with dual-sourcing, alternate qualification, LTAs, and TCO management in low-volume / high-mix environments.
• ERP/MRP fluency and inventory optimization from prototype through low-rate production.
• Ability to partner cross-functionally with EE/firmware/ME teams and constructively challenge designs on cost, availability, and second-source options.

Preferred

• Prior Tier‑1/2 aerospace, defense, eVTOL, UAS, or high-reliability power electronics experience.
• Direct SiC power‑stage or FOC motor‑controller BOM experience.
• Supplier audit ownership and corrective‑action leadership.
• Documented cost‑reduction or lead‑time improvement while protecting quality and reliability.
• ITAR / export‑control familiarity.
• Experience building preferred‑supplier lists and single‑source risk matrices.

This position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes in production and lab areas.

Level and base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job‑related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
