Job summary

FDH Aero, a leading aerospace supply chain partner, seeks a Sr. Buyer to optimize procurement, cost, and inventory across US operations. You will negotiate with suppliers, analyze data, and collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to maximize gross margins.

The role requires strong negotiation, supplier management, and knowledge of aerospace materials and ITAR/EAR compliance. You will drive cost reduction while maintaining quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years procurement experience, preferably in aerospace.
• Familiarity with aerospace regulations and procurement software (AS9100, ITAR, EAR).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies to meet aerospace component and material needs.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to identify requirements.
• Assess and select suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery, and reliability.
• Provide technical/product knowledge when required, cross.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with current and new suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms.
• Monitor supplier performance, track KPIs, and take corrective actions as needed.
• Conduct cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities in the supply chain.
• Implement cost reduction strategies, including value engineering and alternative sourcing options, without compromising quality or reliability.
• Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal balance between stock availability and carrying costs.
• Develop and implement inventory control processes to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
• Collaborate with quality department to ensure suppliers meet aerospace standards and certifications.
• Address and resolve any quality issues that may arise during procurement.
• Identify and assess supply chain risks; develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with laws and industry standards related to aerospace procurement.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and adjust procurement practices accordingly.
• Prepare regular reports on procurement activities and savings.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
