Job summary

ALIGN Executive Search is seeking a Sr. Buyer to source, purchase, and coordinate freight and returns for aerospace components and tooling in California. You will hold suppliers accountable for quality, delivery, and cost containment, while expediting orders and aligning with project schedules.

The role requires 5+ years of aerospace buying experience, strong negotiation, and proficiency with MRP/BoM. Excellent communication and multi-tasking under pressure are essential in this fast-paced

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as a Buyer in the aerospace industry.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• CPIM preferred but not required.
• Strong negotiation skills to reduce costs and delivery times.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure to meet customer requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T engineering drawings desired.
• Proficient with MRP and have a good understanding of BoM’s.
• Knowledge of Supply Chain Management Concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Excel, Word, and Access.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate Quotations and place Purchase Orders to suppliers and subcontractors for products and services in a timely manner
• Responsible for proactively tracking critical orders and follow-up on Open Orders
• Perform Expediting as needed and manage existing orders
• Work with Planners to efficiently place or modify PO's to meet project schedule demands
• Submit RFQ’s to support bids and projects for Sales and Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Maintenance
• Reconcile and rectify all non-conformances with suppliers while maintaining original due dates or acceptable recovery dates
• Ensure all product documentation is reviewed and accurate
• Accurately manage cost data and vendor capacity to give best recommendations for supplier selection
