Job summary

Beaver Aerospace & Defense, a Héroux‑Devtek company, seeks a Buyer/Senior Buyer to source specialty metals, forgings, and outside processing for flight‑critical aerospace products. You’ll lead RFQs, negotiate terms, and manage long‑lead materials in a low‑volume, high‑mix environment while ensuring DFARS/ITAR compliance.

The role requires a bachelor’s in a related field, 3+ years in aerospace procurement, and strong ERP skills (SAP/Oracle). Travel up to 10–20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in aerospace/defense procurement as Buyer/Buyer‑Planner/Contract Specialist.
• Working knowledge of AS9100, ITAR, DFARS requirements and P.O. flowdowns.
• Experience purchasing metals, machined components, or outside processing.
• Experience managing long‑lead material in a low‑volume, high‑mix environment.
• Experience running RFQs and negotiating price/lead time with suppliers.
• Proficiency in SAP/Oracle/ERP systems; strong MS Excel skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship; ITAR eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase specialty steels, alloys, forgings, castings, bearings, and outside processing.
• Lead RFQs and evaluate supplier quotes for price, capability, capacity, lead time, and quality.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and LTAs with key suppliers.
• Manage supplier performance on on-time delivery, quality, and cost; drive corrective action.
• Identify supply risk on single-source/long-lead items and implement mitigation plans.
• Visit supplier sites to build relationships and resolve issues.
• Flow down contract and quality requirements to suppliers; ensure DFARS/ITAR compliance.
• Coordinate MRP outputs to place purchase orders and support production schedules.
