Job summary

Thales Avionics, Inc. (IFE) in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage the transactional procurement process for the IFEC division, converting PRs into POs and ensuring compliance with Delegation of Authority thresholds.

You will handle day‑to‑day purchasing activities, including requesting quotations, negotiating pricing, validating order details, and supporting supplier follow‑up and expediting to meet delivery, quality, and timing requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field with at least five years of supplier experience.
• Strong Excel skills with VLOOKUP and PivotTables; proficient with Microsoft Office and Teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across a cross‑functional organization.
• Ability to manage assignments independently and drive them to completion.

Responsibilities

• Review and convert purchase requisitions to purchase orders; manage PO changes.
• Follow up with suppliers; expediting to ensure on-time delivery.
• Support RFx activities and prepare procurement reports.
• Resolve disputes and ensure compliance with procurement policy.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, QA and project teams.
