Summary

Procure specialized engineered equipment, spare parts, operational chemicals, materials, supplies, and contractual services in a cost-effective, quality, and timely manner for our client.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Source, evaluate, negotiate, and apply advanced techniques in procuring engineered equipment, spare parts, operational chemicals, materials, supplies, and contractual services to ensure value, quality, and timeliness.
• Develop short-term and long-term supply agreements, leveraging spend data analysis to optimize procurement, economics, quality, and schedule requirements.
• Implement and utilize electronic data interchange (EDI) technology with suppliers and other e-procurement methods to replenish inventory efficiently.
• Obtain competitive bids and proposals, perform bid analyses, and recommend the best value options.
• Collaborate with engineering firms, suppliers, and contractors to facilitate sourcing, logistics, and contractual processes.
• Conduct market analysis, monitor supply chain risks, and take actions to mitigate adverse trends.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers to achieve cost, quality, and availability advantages.
• Address supplier performance issues and expedite purchase orders as needed.
• Establish commercial terms for new spare parts in inventory.
• Review supplier performance and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain technical knowledge of products and perform value analysis for cost efficiency.
• Work collaboratively across teams, assist with training, and provide guidance.
• Review contractual agreements for compliance before legal review.
• Create purchase orders in ERP systems and manage procurement transactions.
• Support departmental goals and perform duties with minimal supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

  Education and experience

  Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Management required. Minimum six years’ experience in purchasing/supply management in petroleum refining, petrochemical, or chemical industries preferred. Must possess both commercial and technical procurement skills, high ethical standards, and excellent communication skills. Proficiency in business applications and procurement software is required.
