Job Description - Sr. Buyer, Supply Chain & Procurement

Our client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Supply Chain & Procurement Buyer to lead sourcing initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and optimize procurement processes. This role is critical to ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, supporting operational efficiency and organizational growth.

Responsibilities - What you will do
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to meet business objectives and ensure supply continuity.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal terms, pricing, and quality.
  • Manage supplier performance, including conducting regular reviews and resolving issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Operations, Finance) to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
  • Monitor market trends and conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for savings and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier documentation.
  • Lead initiatives to improve procurement processes, systems, and tools.
  • Support inventory management and demand planning to optimize stock levels.
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement metrics, supplier performance, and cost savings.
Qualifications - What you need
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
  • Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and cost savings.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience of ERP/MRP (SAP experience is plus).
  • Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa) and Microsoft Office Suite; experience of VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory), JIT (Just In Time).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of contract law, procurement best practices, and global sourcing.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or PMP are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously within a team and contribute to a positive, collaborative work culture.
  • Bilingual skills is a plus.

There is 10-30% overseas travel involved for collaboration with other suppliers. At the beginning of employment, there may be 3-6 months of being dispatched overseas (for part of the time) to learn.
