Job summary

Tate Inc. is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead procurement activities across multiple sites in the United States. You will manage sourcing, negotiate contracts, and strengthen supplier relationships to ensure timely, cost-effective materials and services for manufacturing operations.

Candidates should have 5–8 years in procurement or supply chain, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience with ERP systems. The role offers a discretionary bonus and exposure to global supply chains.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles required.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and sourcing strategies.
  • Experience with ERP systems and procurement tools required.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred.
  • Ability to drive cost savings and process improvements effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Own procurement performance by managing sourcing activities and supplier relationships effectively.
  • Source materials and services aligned with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to optimize cost and value.
  • Manage supplier performance and address issues related to quality or delivery.
  • Ensure timely placement and tracking of purchase orders to support production needs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Analyses spend data to identify cost reduction opportunities and sourcing strategies.
  • Evaluate supplier options to improve cost, quality, and service performance.
  • Support implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier consolidation efforts.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations to align procurement with business objectives.
  • Ensure procurement activities align with budget and cost control targets.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and supplier documentation.
  • Support audits and provide required documentation for procurement activities.
  • Identify risks in the supply chain and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes and supplier performance.

Job Purpose:

The Senior Buyer manages procurement activities to ensuretimelyand cost-effective sourcing of materials and services. The role develops supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and supports supply chain performance. The position contributes to cost savings, supply continuity, and operational efficiency.

IMS Responsibilities
  • Adhere to the Employee Handbook, Group Code of Conduct, the Group Compliance Policy, the IMS Policy, and all other applicable company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of the requirements of, and their individual contribution to and impact on the effectiveness of, the Integrated Management System (IMS), including Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and Product Complianceobjectivesand requirements.
  • Report on unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, incidents, and injuries, quality issues, compliance concerns, violations to theappropriate personnelwithout delay.
  • Participate in required training, audits, and continuous improvementinitiatives.

  • Pay range: $75,000 to $85,000 USD. This role is eligible for a discretionary bonus.
