Job summary

HealthTrust Supply Chain, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Senior Buyer to handle requisition processing, sourcing, vendor negotiations, and PO management for Mercy Consolidated Services Center and related entities.

Responsibilities include leveraging tools like GHX, Lawson, Salesforce, and Strata; maintaining contracts; and ensuring accurate PO data and price accuracy. Requires strong purchasing experience within healthcare procurement.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/Equivalent Required
• Bachelor's degree in business or finance Preferred
• 3+ years of experience in purchasing and/or Supply Chain/Material Management Required

Responsibilities

• Research and source customer product inquiries and purchase requisitions.
• Maximize the use of all available resource tools for product sourcing including the Lawson Item File, CATSCAN, Nuvia, Salesforce, prime vendor sources, vendor catalogs, websites and publications.
• Effective utilization of Strata capital management software and Projecto construction project software.
• Keeps current and familiar with active and inactive contracts and contract modifications.
• Promptly processes daily vendor confirmation information via GHX, Fax, E-mail and Vendor Line by immediately entering the information on the purchase order including expected delivery dates changes, back order, substitution and discontinued product information.
• Promptly advises the appropriate staff member of confirmation price discrepancies in order to prevent invoice price discrepancies.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Senior Buyer has primary responsibility for requisition processing, daily product sourcing, vendor purchase order negotiations, purchase order placement, confirmation follow up, invoice resolution and expediting of purchase orders for products and services for the Mercy Consolidated Services Center as well as all Mercy entities. The Senior Buyer focuses on the ongoing service and enhancement of a minimally intrusive and customer focused purchasing process.
