Stellant Systems in Melville, NY is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage procurement of electronic and electromechanical parts for RF Commercial Military applications.

You will establish suppliers, negotiate pricing, expedite orders, and ensure on-time delivery while collaborating with sales, engineering, and production. The role demands extensive purchasing experience and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field with 9+ years of experience or Master’s with 7+ years or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience purchasing electronic and electromechanical parts, RF Commercial Military preferred.
• Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience writing technical specifications and other technical documents; Costpoint and ERP proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Check requisitions for proper descriptions, part numbers, specs and place orders accordingly.
• Establish sources of supply ensuring pricing, dependable shipment and quality.
• Expedite, follow up and administer open purchase orders.
• Maintain order files and liaise with vendors and internal departments.
• Develop new supply sources for new and routine materials; coordinate diverse orders for pricing advantages.

Overview

Job Title: Senior Buyer

Job Location: Melville, NY OR Topsfield, MA (100% onsite)

Salary: $90,000-$130,000/yr DOE

Responsibilities

• Check and examine purchase requisitions assigned for proper descriptions of items, part numbers, specifications, etc., and place orders for same in accordance with established policies.
• Establish sources of supply that will ensure reasonable pricing, dependable shipment and reliable quality.
• Expedites, follows up and administers open purchase orders.
• Maintain appropriate files on all orders in process.
• Interview salespeople and vendors and refers descriptive literature to the department concerned.
• Maintain necessary liaison between all departments within the Company and vendors to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Develop new sources of supply both for new and routine materials.
• Coordinate and combine orders of different origins to take advantage of quantity prices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 9 years prior relevant experience or Masters degree and a minimum of 7 years prior experience or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience in purchasing electronic and electromechanical parts preferably in the RF Commercial Military industry
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
