Job summary

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage end-to-end procurement across multiple categories. You will develop category strategies, select suppliers, negotiate to achieve best-in-class pricing, and analyze total cost of ownership to guide senior management decisions.

Responsibilities include issuing purchase orders, coordinating with user departments, and visiting suppliers to understand manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Procurement or a related field.
  • Knowledge of SAP Ariba procurement system preferred.
  • Ability to perform complex analysis for supplier contracts, develop long range category plans, streamline operational procedures, perform continuous improvement activities, recommend and establish inventory levels, and present project reports to senior management.
  • Knowledge of financial and cost management, PO and contract management, and spreadsheet analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is essential for this role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Job description

The primary responsibility of the Senior Buyer is to manage the entire supply chain process for categories including; development of category strategies, selection of suitable suppliers, negotiation to ensure best-in-class pricing, analysis of total cost of ownership, summary of procurement recommendation, purchasing, supplier quality performance, and senior management reporting.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Develop comprehensive category strategies that documents sourcing approaches, preferred suppliers, purchasing, invoicing reconciliations, cost performance, quality performance, and logistics solutions.
  • Excel in supplier negotiations using multiple approaches such as market tests, long term agreements, and cost models.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations to ensure best-in-class pricing based on total cost of ownership.
  • Summarize sourcing recommendation and be able to align with stakeholders of sourcing recommendation.
  • Issue purchase orders and follow up with suppliers on prompt shipments at the appropriate quality levels.
  • Interface with user departments as the procurement and category specialist that allows management to make the right procurement decisions.
  • Visit suppliers as needed to understand manufacturing processes and new developments.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
