Job summary

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas is seeking a Manager - Group Dining Sales to propose, contract, and coordinate events up to multi-day buyouts. You will lead the planning, staffing, and execution of group dining programs across venues, ensuring profitability and guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years of supervisory hospitality experience and strong knowledge of the MICE sector, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Micros, and TripleSeat.

  • 2 years’ experience in group sales.
  • Working knowledge of MICE industry.

  • Assist in managing setup and execution of large events and full venue buyouts.
  • Create detailed BEOs for contracted events.
  • Coordinate 3rd party companies with client as well as venue for services (rental companies, entertainment, A/V, etc.).

Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Manager - Group Dining Sales will be to propose, contract, and coordinate all event sizes up to multi-day buyouts. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Implement and uphold of all department SOPs and standardized Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
  • Field, contract, design and coordinate all events, including single day full venue buyouts.
  • Share updates of all events to Director for weekly BEO meetings
  • Effectively communicate BEOs to each outlet’s operational team to ensure a successful event.
  • Meet with prospective and contracted clients for site-visits, walkthroughs, and relationship building.
  • Assist in managing setup and execution of large events and full venue buyouts.
  • Reply promptly to all group dining inquiries.
  • Create detailed BEOs for contracted events.
  • Uphold the brand and service standards for each outlet.
  • Coordinate 3rd party companies with client as well as venue for services to operate events (rental companies, entertainment, A/V, etc.)
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review and comprehend all contracts specific to each outlet.
  • Appropriately and responsibly utilize comp empowerment to promote exceptional guest/client experiences and facilitate timely recovery in the event of service shortfalls.
  • Oversee event planning activities to ensure standards are met/exceeded and the venue hosting the event maximizes profitability.
  • Manage departmental resources to eliminate excess cost or unnecessary expenditures.
  • Build strong professional relationships with all necessary departments and outlets.
  • Promote guest/client loyalty by building strong and lasting relationships with new and repeat clients.
  • Promote teamwork, mutual respect, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Company Standards of Conduct

All Team Members at The Venetian Resort are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities
  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Health Card, Alcohol Awareness Card and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the hospitality industry required.
  • 2 years’ experience in group sales.
  • Working knowledge of MICE industry.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Micros, and TripleSeat.
  • Must be able to give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with hotel guests in a congenial and polite manner.
  • Must be able to address stressful situations with clients and guests with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to

  • Lift or carry 10 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
