Job summary

Protingent is seeking a Senior Buyer for a direct-hire role in Kent, WA. The candidate will lead day-to-day procurement for construction and facilities projects, develop strategic suppliers, and drive best-value awards. Experience with avionics components and cost-type contracts is essential.

You will manage RFP/RFQ processes, perform cost analyses, and use Costpoint or Coupa to generate POs and change orders, while ensuring compliance and cross-functional collaboration. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, economics, finance, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of tactical level experience in purchasing/supply chain.
• Understanding avionics systems and components, including software and hardware.
• Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment to accomplish goals while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Outlook and Windows programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
• Ability to work effectively independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
• Cost and price analysis experience.
• Above average knowledge of cost-type contracting.

Responsibilities

• Work with facilities and project management leads to select suppliers and contractors to bid projects and award business.
• Develop RFP/RFQ packages and evaluate responses.
• Perform price and cost analysis.
• Issue and manage fixed price and cost type contracts.
• Ensure awards are compliant with procurement practices and processes.
• Ensure best value is achieved in all procurements.
• Employ Costpoint and/or Coupa software to prepare purchase orders and change orders.
• Ensure supplier documentation (terms/conditions, NDAs) is executed prior to engagement.
• Negotiate these agreements as necessary.
• Support other buyers with order management, backlog monitoring, and status reporting.
• Monitor supplier performance and prepare reports.
• Conduct supplier business reviews and develop plans to improve performance.
• Serve as escalation point for purchasing, delivery, invoices, payments, and performance issues.
• Attend/support weekly project planning and status meetings.
• Minor travel is required.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier business reviews and develop plans to improve supplier performance.
• Serve as an escalation point for the resolution of discrepancies and issues related to purchasing, delivery, receiving, invoices, payments to the suppliers, and supplier performance problems.
• Attend/support weekly project planning and status meetings.
• Minor travel is required.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, economics, finance, engineering, or a related field.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Outlook and Windows programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
• Ability to work effectively independently and in cross-functional teams.

Desired Job Qualifications
