Job summary

VE Solutions in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage a group of key commodities and suppliers. You will place and track purchase orders, manage inventory levels, and ensure on-time deliveries to support production and customer orders.

You will work closely with the operations team to balance supply and demand, drive lead-time and cost improvements, and collaborate with Accounts Payable on PO/invoice matching.

Qualifications

• Ensure accuracy of all order and inventory ERP transactions.
• Sourcing and quoting of parts for lead time or cost improvements.

• New part numbers in NetSuite and update costs.
• Ensure on-time deliveries for production.

• Resolve supply problems proactively.
• Assist sourcing/quoting of parts.
• Drive continual process improvement.
• Experience in multiple commodities is a plus.
• Knowledge of NetSuite or ERP is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel basics.
• Excellent oral and written communication.

• 5+ years in procurement/supply chain.

Description

The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing an assigned group of key commodities and suppliers. This includes placing and managing purchase orders, managing inventory levels, ensuring on time deliveries as well as other tasks. The Senior Buyer works closely with the operations team to maintain balance between supply and demand for production and customer orders while supporting plant goals.

Requirements

• Ensure accuracy of all order and inventory management related ERP transactions including updated estimated delivery dates and purchase order confirmations.
• Sourcing and quoting of new and/or existing parts as needed for lead time improvement, cost savings or quality improvement initiatives.
• Request and manager VRAs with suppliers.
• New part number creation in NetSuite ERP as needed including updated costs and sell price as required.
• Ensuring on time deliveries to meet production dates on special order fulfillments.
• Work with Accounts Payable to ensure invoice/purchase order match.
• Work with suppliers to improve lead time, with cost, quality and delivery.
• Continually update status reports for key production parts as required.
• Take proactive initiative to resolve supply problems involving materials, manufacturing and supply chain.
• Assist Purchasing Supervisor on souring/quoting of parts as requested.
• Drive innovation and process improvement on a continual basis.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Experience in multiple commodity purchasing is a plus
• Knowledge and experience of NetSuite or other ERP Systems is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Bachelors Degree in Business or Supply Chain Preferred
• Proficient in the basics of Excel
• Excellent communication skills both orally and written
