Job summary

Rudolph & Sletten, a Tutor Perini Company, is hiring a Business Unit Controller for the Menlo Park, CA office. The role leads accounting and controls for a growing unit expected to approach $1B in annual revenues, with a staff of 10–15 and 3 direct reports.

You will manage monthly closes, ensure GAAP compliance, oversee reporting to the parent, and partner with external auditors while pursuing productivity through automation and improved internal controls.

Qualifications

• BA degree in Finance or Accounting is required; CPA preferred but not required.
• 8+ years of progressive management experience in accounting and finance in the construction industry.
• Thorough understanding of the full construction industry revenue recognition process including WIP reporting and percentage of completion calculations.
• Construction operations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across the business unit for all accounting and controlling operations and develop a high-performing team.
• Manage the monthly close process to ensure timely, accurate GAAP financial information with analysis.
• Oversee compiling and reporting financial information to the parent entity through close cycles; supervise cash and banking activities.
• Review revenue recognition through WIP and forecasts; ensure SOX compliant internal controls.
• Drive productivity by automating accounting activities and supporting external audits.
