You will guide large cross-functional projects from discovery through delivery, translate business needs into technical direction, and mentor junior analysts in an Agile SAFe setting. This role blends business insight with hands-on data and system integration work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of business analysis experience, including leading large, cross-functional projects.
• Bachelor's degree in business, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, SQL, and BI tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong background in process modeling, data mapping, and system integrations.
• Excellent communicator capable of influencing decisions at all levels.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities without losing momentum.

Responsibilities

• Write and refine requirements, specs, process maps, workflows, and data mappings.
• Tackle tough problems and propose practical solutions.

• Coach junior analysts and support their development.

Job Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst

Type: Full Time Opportunity

Location: Farmington Hills, MI (3x a week on-site, 2x a week remote)

Salary: up to $130,000 base

The Opportunity

A well-established company in the insurance space is looking for an experienced Business Systems Analyst to take the lead on high-impact technology and process initiatives. This is a senior seat at the table. You'll guide major projects from discovery to delivery, translate business needs into clear technical direction, and help less experienced analysts sharpen their craft. The team works in an Agile environment using the SAFe framework.

Your Day-to-Day

• Dig into business operations, systems, and data to find what's working, what isn't, and how to fix it
• Write and refine requirements, specs, process maps, workflows, and data mappings
• Get to the bottom of tough problems and recommend practical solutions
• Help teams adopt new tools and better ways of working
• Define and track metrics that show whether a project is delivering value
• Plan and lead QA and user acceptance testing
• Keep business stakeholders, developers, and subject matter experts aligned
• Coach junior analysts and support their development
• Keep processes in line with regulatory and compliance standards
• Build training content and lead sessions when new systems roll out

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of business analysis experience, including leading large, cross-functional projects
• Bachelor's degree in business, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Hands-on skill with Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, SQL, and BI tools like Tableau or Power BI
• Solid background in process modeling, data mapping, and system integrations
• Strong communicator who can earn trust and influence decisions at any level
• Able to manage multiple priorities without losing momentum

Preferred:

• CBAP or PMI-PBA certification
• Prior insurance industry experienceSAFe or other Agile framework experience
