Job Overview

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will work within Keck Medicine's IS team to develop, test, and implement business intelligence solutions across various departments. This role serves as a subject matter expert on dashboards, responsible for designing, documenting, and maintaining data visualization tools, ensuring data integrity and system security, and leveraging technologies such as QlikView, CCL, Hadoop, and RDBMS. The position requires understanding departmental workflows and supporting strategic goals.

Essential Duties

1. Dashboard Development: Apply SDLC methodology for timely development, testing, and deployment of enterprise dashboards.
2. Data Visualization Design: Incorporate user experience principles into dashboard and report designs.
3. Training: Train staff on systems/applications and coordinate with vendors for new system rollouts.
4. Priority Management: Manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and collaborate across disciplines independently.
5. Customer Service: Address questions, handle service issues professionally, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Reporting: Generate ad-hoc and routine reports and data exports.
7. Business Intelligence: Transform data into meaningful insights for decision-making, including predictive analysis.
8. Documentation: Prepare documentation such as FRDs and create mock-up visualizations prior to development.
9. Other Duties: Support on-call responsibilities and other assigned tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 6-10 years of relevant experience in BI reporting, dashboard development, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with SQL (MS SQL Server, Oracle).
• Additional 10 years of relevant IT/business support experience if no degree.
• Strong organizational, customer service, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with database systems, system design, and capacity planning.
• Ability to work flexible hours and support 24/7 operations.
• Willingness to travel between USC facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years QlikView and QlikSense experience.
• Experience with Tableau, PowerBI, or other BI tools.

Licenses/Certifications

• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Additional Details

The annual salary range is $110,240 - $181,896, considering experience and qualifications. This role is classified as Mid-Senior level, full-time, within the Healthcare industry.
