The Business Intelligence Developer Senior will work in Keck Medicine's IS team to develop, test, and implement business intelligence solutions for various departments. The role serves as a subject matter expert on dashboards and is responsible for identifying and documenting IT design specifications based on user needs, conducting need-gap analyses, ensuring data integrity, maintaining system security, and transforming data. The Senior BI Developer understands departmental workflows and leverages USC's technologies such as QlikView, Cerner CCL, Hadoop, and RDBMS. This role applies technical skills to resolve problems across platforms and supports Keck Medicine of USC's strategic goals.

Essential Duties:
  1. Dashboard Development: Use SDLC methodology to develop, test, and deploy enterprise dashboards efficiently.
  2. Data Visualization Design: Incorporate user experience principles to enhance dashboards and reports.
  3. Training: Train new staff and collaborate with vendors on new system rollouts.
  4. Priority Management: Manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and work independently in a technical environment.
  5. Customer Service: Address inquiries, handle service tickets professionally, and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Reporting: Generate ad-hoc and routine reports and data exports.
  7. Business Intelligence: Transform data into actionable insights for decision-making and outcome prediction.
  8. Documentation: Prepare documentation such as FRDs and create mock-ups for dashboards.
  9. Other Duties and On-Call: Fulfill on-call requirements and additional tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in dashboards/BI reporting, including design, documentation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with SQL databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Additional 10 years of business support or IT support if no relevant degree.
  • Strong organizational skills, customer service focus, proficiency in Microsoft Office, analytical skills, database system experience, and system design knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional approach.
  • Availability to work flexible hours and travel to USC facilities as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years QlikView and QlikSense experience.
  • Experience with other BI tools like Tableau, PowerBI.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
  • Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) within 30 days of hire if not already obtained.

The annual salary range is $110,240 - $181,896. USC considers various factors when making employment offers, including experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
