Senior Business Intelligence Developer - IS Clinical Research - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

The Business Intelligence Developer Senior will work in the Keck Medicine IS team to develop, test, and implement business intelligence solutions for various departments. This role serves as a subject matter expert on dashboards and is responsible for identifying and documenting IT design specifications based on user needs, conducting need-gap analyses, ensuring data integrity, maintaining system security, and transforming data. The role requires understanding departmental workflows and leveraging technologies such as QlikView, Cerner Command Language (CCL), Hadoop, and RDBMS. The Senior BI Developer applies their skills to resolve problems across platforms and supports Keck Medicine of USC's strategic goals.

Essential Duties:

1. Develop, test, and deploy enterprise dashboards following SDLC methodology.
2. Design data visualizations with a focus on user experience in dashboards and reports.
3. Train new staff and collaborate with vendors on training for new systems.
4. Manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and work independently across technical and collaborative tasks.
5. Provide excellent customer service, addressing questions, concerns, and enhancement requests professionally.
6. Generate ad-hoc and routine reports and data exports.
7. Transform disparate data into meaningful analysis to support decision-making and predict outcomes.
8. Prepare documentation such as Functional Requirement Documents (FRD) and create mock-ups before building dashboards.
9. Support on-call duties and other assigned responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 6-10 years of relevant experience in dashboards/BI reporting design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Additional 10 years of experience in business or IT support if no relevant degree.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Analytical skills to solve technical and administrative problems, with thorough documentation practices.
• Experience with database systems, system design, and capacity planning.
• Ability to communicate technical issues in business language.
• Professional demeanor and flexibility for 24/7 support hours.
• Willingness to travel between USC facilities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience with QlikView and QlikSense.
• Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) – must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already held.

The annual salary range is $110,240 - $181,896, considering experience, responsibilities, and other factors.
