SUMMARY:
As a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer, you will be critical in shaping Kestra’s evolution into a data-driven, insights-led organization. This position is responsible for developing enterprise-grade analytics solutions, mentoring junior team members, and partnering closely with business stakeholders to deliver strategic reporting aligned with corporate goals. You will drive the modernization of BI practices, influence data architecture decisions, and be a key contributor in advancing the company’s analytical maturity toward predictive and prescriptive analytics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty at a high level of proficiency :
Lead the design and implementation of scalable, maintainable BI solutions using modern tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Looker to enable data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.
Partner with data engineering and governance teams to ensure high data quality, security, and stewardship standards are embedded into all reporting solutions.
Serve as a strategic analytics partner to business leaders across departments, translating complex business needs into effective metrics, KPIs, and actionable dashboards.
Mentor junior BI developers, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices in dashboard design, performance optimization, and data storytelling.
Apply advanced analytical logic, including window functions, LOD expressions, dynamic date aggregations, and time-series analysis to meet business reporting requirements.
Architect and optimize certified datasets and semantic layers to promote consistent self-service analytics across teams.
Contribute to strategic tool evaluations and drive the adoption of embedded analytics, AI-assisted insights, and natural language querying capabilities.
Champion data literacy initiatives and support the business's self-sufficiency with data tools and insights.
Participate actively in the full development lifecycle of BI products, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and documentation.
Lead or contribute to establishing BI standards and governance processes across the analytics stack.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully, the individual should have the f ollowing skills and abilities:
Proven ability to translate business strategy into actionable data insights using modern BI tools and enterprise data platforms.
Stron g hands-on experience with Snowflake , Azure Data Services , and/or Databricks .
Fluency in SQL , with expertise in complex joins, time-based logic, and performance tuning.
Advanced Tableau and Power BI knowledge , including calculated fields, parameter actions, custom aggregations, and row-level security.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and present to executive audiences .
Strong understanding of data modeling , ETL workflows , and data warehousing concepts .
Experience guiding teams through Agile delivery , including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and demoing to stakeholders.
N aturally curious, analytical thinker passionate about mentorship, innovation, and continuous improvement .

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science , Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of enterprise experience in BI development, analytics engineering, or a related data role.
Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional projects and mentoring of junior developers or analysts.
Experience with version control (e.g., Git), deployment automation, and BI DevOps workflows is a plus.
Financial Services experience is a plus
Tableau Cloud administration experience is a plus
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Tableau, Power BI, or other BI platform certifications are strongly preferred.
Certifications with other BI software tools to be considered.
