Job summary
Navy Federal Credit Union seeks an experienced data analyst to support business decisions with quantitative and qualitative insights. You will build dashboards, reports, and data models, integrating data from multiple sources to inform leadership on performance, risk, and opportunities.
You will leverage SQL, Python, R, and Power BI to deliver actionable analytics, drive process improvements, and forecast potential costs and impacts.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Advanced skill using BI applications and cloud-based analytics, including Power BI.
- Advanced knowledge of reporting within CRM, PEGA, database, and other enterprise systems.
- Advanced skill using SQL including complex queries and data manipulation.
- Strong data integration, cleansing, validation, and QA skills.
- Ability to communicate analytical findings to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Collect, aggregate, and analyze data from multiple sources to drive insights into performance, risk, and opportunities.
- Identify trends and prepare dashboards and data visualizations to support decisions.
- Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, dashboards, data models, and BI solutions using Power BI.
- Produce actionable reports highlighting KPIs and opportunities and support root cause analysis.
- Use analytics to forecast costs, risks, and business impacts.
- Communicate findings to stakeholders to optimize performance and initiatives.
- Provide reporting solutions and respond to ad hoc requests.
- Create specifications for reports based on business requirements.
- Build relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Lead small projects and contribute to cross-functional analytics.

Support business decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to leadership through dashboards and reports. Analyze business problems and issues using business intelligence tools that incorporate data from internal and external sources. Work under minimal supervision and use a comprehensive understanding of business needs and objectives to develop recommendations that impact operational goals and strategic decision‑making. Advanced skill set and proficiency with analytical techniques, reporting solutions, and data visualization tools.
- Collect, aggregate, and analyze data from multiple sources, including structured and unstructured datasets, to drive insights into business performance, risk, and operational opportunities.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns and prepare reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support business decisions.
- Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, dashboards, data models, and BI solutions utilizing Power BI and related technologies.
- Produce actionable reports that highlight key performance indicators, identify improvement opportunities, and support root cause analysis.
- Use analytics and metrics to improve processes and provide data‑driven forecasts of potential costs, risks, and business impacts.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership to optimize business performance and support strategic initiatives.
- Provide reporting solutions and respond to ad hoc reporting and analytical requests within the business area.
- Create specifications for reports and analyses based on business requirements and available data sources.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with team members, business partners, and subject matter experts.
- Lead small projects and initiatives and contribute to larger cross‑functional analytical efforts.
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of business area specialization.
- Advanced skill using business intelligence applications and/or cloud‑based analytics solutions, including Power BI.
- Advanced knowledge of reporting capabilities within CRM, PEGA, database, and other enterprise systems.
- Advanced skill using statistical methods, mathematical techniques, forecasting, and cost‑benefit analysis.
- Advanced skill with SQL, including complex queries, joins, data manipulation, and analysis across multiple tables.
- Effective data integration, cleansing, validation, and quality assurance skills.
- Skill communicating analytical findings and visualizations to both technical and senior leadership audiences.
- Skill with data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, and R.
- Advanced skill in utilizing visualizations, design principles, and written communication to effectively tell a story with data.

- Experience developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and visualizations within Power BI.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, Economics, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience supporting fraud, risk, security, operational, financial, or member analytics functions.
- Experience within a financial institution, credit union, banking environment, or other regulated industry.
- Experience with Power BI capabilities such as DAX, Power Query, and semantic modeling.
- Experience presenting analytical findings and recommendations to senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning, or advanced statistical modeling.
