Job description

Our client, a well-established and growing national wealth management and financial planning firm, is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join their Corporate Finance team. This individual will identify business intelligence, reporting, and data analytics needs by working closely with leaders across the organization to translate business information needs into deliverable requirements and technical specifications that support sound business decisions. This role will mentor newer team members, lead projects, and design advanced analytics solutions using the firm's existing data ETL and warehouse infrastructure. The Senior BI Analyst will also work closely with management to prioritize the work of an offshore analytics team, ensuring systems remain accurate and projects stay on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis, development, and maintenance of advanced BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for departments throughout the organization, including reporting to the Board, Executive Team, Finance, Advisory Leaders, Marketing, and other functional areas.
• Lead cross-functional projects, collaborating with data engineers and business leaders on data initiatives within project timelines.
• Adhere to data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Respond to changes in data interpretation by updating source systems or warehouse business logic as needed.
• Test new fields within source systems and the data warehouse to create new opportunities for trend analysis.
• Ensure data accuracy by auditing warehouse data against source systems.
• Handle escalated issues through to resolution.
• Lead data integration projects related to acquired firms, ensuring accurate standardization of data from seller systems.
• Design, develop, and support dashboard, analytic, and reporting solutions for a wide variety of BI datasets in support of assigned business partners.
• Analyze and report business KPIs and data for benchmarking studies and publications.
• Analyze and report marketing KPIs, sales, campaign performance, and ROI, including marketing dashboards and other relevant platforms.
• Identify and analyze marketing channels, offers, and audiences based on KPIs such as conversion rate, contact rate, and lead quality.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support management in data-driven decisions related to business forecasts and program performance.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses to support specific business initiatives and projects.
• Communicate and work closely with the broader team during weekly check-ins to prioritize work and ensure projects are progressing and delivering specifications for new outputs.
• Work with training teams to verify correct representation and understanding of data being visualized.
• Respond to requests for analysis tools and data validation from all departments.
• Maintain user access and visibility for individuals across the organization, ensuring sensitive data is accessible only to appropriate users.
• Manage reports and schedules for firm-wide distribution.
• Mentor and support junior analysts, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Data Science, or Computer and Information Science required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a BI analyst role or similar.
• Prior experience within a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) or wealth management firm setting is required; candidates without direct wealth management/RIA industry experience will not be considered.
• Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization platforms, or interest in learning these tools with current mastery of Excel skills that are transferable to data visualization software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQL, Python, cloud storage (AWS), or ETL/ELT tools.
• Experience with Salesforce CRM, Tableau, and/or Power BI a plus.
• Experience creating dashboards and providing readouts and analysis of data.
• Ability to take complex data points and present them in an easy-to-understand manner; telling stories with data.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, listening, and presentation skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• An understanding of financial services or RIA business needs, budgeting procedures, methods, and evaluation criteria.
