Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions.

Job Summary

The Senior Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving US business growth in the Functional Service Provider (FSP) and Scientific Consulting Services sectors of our business. Since this individual will be selling Scientific Consulting Services, it is essential that the individual have previously worked as a bench scientist, with a solid understanding of translational/bioanalytical science. This position must be keenly aware of organizational growth initiatives related to regional markets and target customer segments.

Essential Duties and Other Responsibilities:

  1. Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
  2. Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners, discovering and exploring opportunities within the FSP and Consulting services.
  3. Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.
  4. Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
  5. Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  6. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  7. Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  8. Once new business has been secured, the business development director works with other department heads and staff to coordinate account startup potential clients, develop customized proposals, and ensuring alignment with company capabilities in FSP and Consulting services.
  9. Delivering presentations, conducting seminars, and participating in meetings with clients, external vendors or advisors.

Education/Experience/Skills Required:

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field, required.
  2. 2+ years of scientific bioanalytical bench experience, required.
  3. 2 - 4 years’ experience in a Business Development/Account Management/Project Management role within a translational/bioanalytical CRO or similar business.
  4. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  5. Strong organization and multitasking skills.
  6. Demonstrated experience in integrating and coordinating diverse areas of management.

Working Location and Travel:

  1. 100% remote, living in the east coast time zone.
  2. Travel as needed, approximately 30-40%.
