Job summary

Bluelight is seeking a Business Analyst to translate business problems into clear, buildable requirements. You’ll sit between clients, the product team, and engineers—leading discovery, mapping processes, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, and ensuring delivered work solves the intended problem.

You’ll work across client builds, client maintenance engagements, and Bluelight's internal products, helping scope and estimate new projects during early phases.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role on software projects.
• Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in agile/Scrum.
• Experience running discovery sessions and turning ambiguous input into structured requirements.
• Comfort with process mapping and data modeling at a business level.
• Hands-on experience with Jira; familiarity with Figma and collaborative docs.
• Excellent written and spoken English; comfortable leading client meetings.
• Able to discuss APIs, integrations, databases, and system constraints with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder interviews and workshops with clients and internal teams.
• Document current and future state processes, rules, data definitions, and edge cases.
• Support new-project sizing by breaking scope into epics and stories.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and open questions early and drive resolution.
• Write clear user stories with testable acceptance criteria in Jira.
• Partner with the Product Manager to groom the backlog for sprints.
• Work with UI/UX design in Figma to ensure flows match requirements.
• Answer engineering questions during the sprint and keep requirements updated.
• Collaborate with QA to translate acceptance criteria into test coverage.
• Support sprint demos and coordinate user acceptance testing with clients.
• Keep requirements organized in Google Drive for easy review.
• Capture compliance, security, and audit requirements explicitly.
