Job summary

Bluelight is seeking a Business Analyst to bridge clients, product teams, and engineers in San Francisco. You’ll run discovery, map processes, write user stories with acceptance criteria, and ensure delivered solutions align with client goals.

You will shape scope for new projects, collaborate with the product and design teams, and help translate business needs into actionable requirements for a mix of client builds and internal products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Business Analyst or similar role on software projects.
• Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in agile/Scrum.
• Proven ability to run discovery sessions and turn ambiguous input into structured requirements.
• Comfort with process mapping and data modeling at a business level.
• Hands-on experience with Jira; familiarity with Figma and collaborative docs.
• Excellent written and spoken English; comfortable leading client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder interviews and workshops with clients and internal teams.
• Document current-state and future-state processes, business rules, data definitions, and edge cases.
• Support sizing by breaking scope into epics and stories for engineering estimation.
• Identify assumptions, risks, dependencies, and drive resolution.
• Write clear user stories with testable acceptance criteria in Jira.
• Collaborate with Product Manager to groom the backlog ahead of sprints.
• Coordinate with UI/UX design in Figma to align flows with requirements.
• Answer engineering questions and keep requirements current.
• Work with QA to ensure acceptance criteria map to tests.
• Support sprint demos and client user acceptance testing.
• Keep requirements docs organized in Google Drive.
• Capture SOC 2, security, and audit requirements explicitly.
• Act as trusted client contact on scope and requirements questions.
• Translate between business and technical audiences clearly.
• Surface scope changes early and explain tradeoffs.
