Job summary

Bluelight is seeking a Business Analyst to translate business problems into clear, buildable requirements. You'll sit between clients, our product team, and engineers: running discovery, mapping processes, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, and ensuring what we ship actually solves the problem it was meant to solve.

You'll work across client builds, client maintenance engagements, and Bluelight's internal products, playing a key role when projects are scoped and estimated.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a Business Analyst, Product Analyst or similar role on software projects.
• Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in agile environments.
• Ability to run discovery sessions and turn ambiguous input into structured requirements.
• Comfort with process mapping and data modeling at a business level.

Responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder interviews to understand goals, workflows, and pain points.
• Document current and future state processes, rules, data definitions, and edge cases.
• Break scope into epics and stories for engineering estimation.
• Identify risks and dependencies early and drive resolution.
• Write user stories with testable acceptance criteria in Jira.
• Collaborate with Product Manager to groom backlog ahead of sprints.
• Coordinate with UI/UX designers to ensure flows meet requirements.
• Answer engineering questions and keep requirements current.
• Work with QA to ensure test coverage matches acceptance criteria.
• Support sprint demos and client user acceptance testing.
