Job summary

Covista is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join the Performance Acceleration team to develop reporting on operational KPIs and support executive reviews. You will work with the technology team to improve dashboards and surface insights across all institutions.

The role emphasizes analytics over pure engineering, using Excel and Power BI to deliver actionable data-driven insights and a feedback loop to improve reporting products over time. Hybrid in-office schedule applies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in statistics, data science, economics, mathematics, or related field.
5+ years of analytics and report development supporting enterprise operations.
5+ years of business experience in higher education or similar multi-line service organization, with operational knowledge of marketing and student or customer service preferred.
Experience with Power BI; reporting skills including SQL, Excel, or similar; and experience with visual presentation of results, primarily in PowerPoint.
Exceptional critical thinking, organization and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions without supervision or direction.
Strong persistence and continuous improvement of regular tasks.
Proven ability to set priorities and deadlines and ensure projects are completed.
Self-motivated and willing to take ownership of and quickly resolve complex issues.
Capacity to develop skills to interpret and analyze data to drive business decisions.
Good skills with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Agility to learn new systems and pilot new technologies is a plus.
Proven ability to meet/exceed expectations on most recent performance evaluation.
Strong communication skills and experience presenting with business counterparts.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and implement reports/dashboards for executive leaders within all institutions.
Leads day-to-day development and delivery of reports and feedback on features and capabilities to be incorporated as enhancements.
Provides segment and performance acceleration colleagues with analytics and reporting on operational projects.
Liaison to assigned function and/or institutions for secondary review on observations and questions.
Leads report discussions with institutional leadership.
Provides detailed feedback to technology teams; coordinates development of feedback with Performance Acceleration and institutional leadership.
Performs statistical analysis, reports, and tracks observational trends and opportunities to improve visualization in assigned systems.
Demonstrates expertise and remains up to date on all institution and functional reporting needs.
May assist leader with designing and presenting any special reports and projects.
Assists with the analysis and estimation of analytic projects.
Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training additional analysts as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
