Job summary

City of San Antonio seeks a capable analyst to identify and implement efficiencies across divisions and departments. Under direction, you will analyze data, gather requirements, and develop strategic plans to improve processes and support budget preparation.

You will oversee new systems integration, monitor project progress, and present findings to leadership, ensuring coordination between multiple divisions and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of business or project analysis experience.

  • Evaluates efficiency of current and new programs and implements program changes.
  • Gathers, compiles, reviews, and analyzes data for performance metrics analysis.
  • Monitors current and new programs for efficiencies and effectiveness based on performance metrics data.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and prioritizes functional and technical needs and requirements.
  • Analyzes and interprets data to inform strategic decision making.
  • Develops strategic plans that align with department goals and objectives.
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual departmental or divisional budget.
  • Prepares written reports, summaries, and presentations on program status, progress, and results.
  • Develops and presents detailed business cases, process models, and system workflows.
  • Works to ensure coordination between divisions within the department.
  • Oversees the implementation and integration of new systems and technologies.
  • Monitors project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Under direction, identifies and implements business and operational efficiencies and business processes relating to projects and activities between various divisions, departments, public agencies, and private sector representatives. May exercise functional or technical supervision over assigned staff.

Work Hours

7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting or managing projects involving data, business processes, or technology.
  • Experience conducting research and performing data analysis to identify trends, investigate issues, evaluate business processes or software systems, and develop data-driven recommendations.
  • Experience extracting, cleaning, transforming, validating, and analyzing data from multiple sources.
  • Experience writing SQL queries to retrieve, join, filter, aggregate, and analyze data within relational databases.
  • Experience creating reports, dashboards, or data visualizations to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full‑time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
