Job summary

Surge IT in Alexandria, VA is seeking an experienced Business Analyst with 7–10 years of experience to work with project teams and clients on functional and technical requirements analysis, documentation, and validation for software development. You will create/update user stories, acceptance criteria, gather meeting notes, and prepare weekly status reports.

The role requires strong communication, collaboration across Scrum teams, and the ability to guide stakeholders toward high-quality product

Qualifications

• Experience creating user stories, system requirements, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to analyze user requirements and improve systems.
• Knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scaled Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
• Ability to research and resolve production issues.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and communicate solutions.
• Act as liaison between project manager, development team, and client.
• Understand UI designs, wireframes, release notes, end-user documentation.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools in BA activities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

• Perform functional and technical requirements analysis, documentation, and validation for software development.
• Create or update user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Assist in gathering meeting notes and preparing weekly status reports.
• Present status updates to the team and client.
• Facilitate team and stakeholder discussions and remove impediments.
• Coordinate with other scrum teams to deliver high-quality products.
