Job description

KPI Partners is a 5 times Gartner recognized data, analytics, and AI consulting company. We are leaders in data engineering on Azure, AWS, Google, Snowflake and Databricks. Founded in 2006, KPI has over 400 consultants and has successfully delivered over 1,000 projects to our clients. We are looking for skilled professionals who want to work with the best team.

Title: Senior Business Analyst

Location: 100% Remote – MST Time Zone

Job Type: Full-time

Key Skills: Business Analysis, and Stakeholder Facilitation.

Nice to Have: Snowflake, Oracle Fusion, Salesforce, and legacy/homegrown applications exposure.

Note: May require limited travel as per the project needs

Summary

We are looking for a BA / Domain Expert to join a high-impact engagement. This is a senior, outcomes-oriented role — not a traditional requirements-gathering position. You will sit at the intersection of business strategy and data architecture, serving as the critical bridge between our client's domain experts and KPI's engineering delivery team.

Key Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Understanding

  • Partner directly with business owners, operations leaders, finance, and product stakeholders to understand the operating model, revenue mechanics, and decision-making processes behind each data request.
  • Run structured discovery sessions, workshops, and interviews; drive to clarity when stakeholders describe outcomes rather than requirements.
  • Build and maintain a working map of business capabilities to data domains (customer, service, asset, route, contract, billing, HR, finance, vendor).
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for requirement accuracy — escalating ambiguity early instead of letting it surface during UAT.

Requirements Definition & Documentation

  • Translate business requirements into data requirements: entities, attributes, grain, business rules, calculation logic, historization needs, refresh frequency, and SLAs.
  • Author and maintain BRDs, source-to-target mapping (STTM) documents, data dictionaries, business glossaries, and acceptance criteria.
  • Define measurable acceptance criteria and reconciliation rules so that every deliverable can be validated against a source of truth.
  • Maintain requirement traceability from business ask through data model, pipeline, and consumption layer.

Gap Identification & Advisory

  • Identify data gaps — missing attributes, unavailable history, inconsistent definitions across systems, and quality issues — and quantify the business impact of each.
  • Recommend remediation paths: source system change, manual capture, third-party enrichment, derived logic, or explicit scope deferral.
  • Flag conflicting metric definitions across business units and drive them to a single agreed definition.
  • Support data governance efforts — ownership assignment, stewardship, and glossary adoption.

Delivery Partnership

  • Work alongside data engineers, architects, and BI developers through grooming, build, and validation; clarify requirements in-flight rather than over the wall.
  • Lead UAT planning and execution with business users; triage defects and distinguish requirement misses from build defects.
  • Present findings, tradeoffs, and recommendations to both technical teams and executive stakeholders in the language each audience uses.
Must have Skills:
  • 8–12 years in business analysis, solution architecture, or data consulting — ideally on enterprise data platforms.
  • Proven ability to drive stakeholders to decisions — not just document what was said in the room
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects, Product Owners, Analytics teams, and business stakeholders to define business rules, data requirements, solution designs, and acceptance criteria.
  • Facilitate prioritization discussions by evaluating business value, risks, dependencies, and strategic alignment to ensure delivery teams focus on the highest-value initiatives.
  • Lead requirements gathering, documentation, stakeholder reviews, and testing activities, including development of business requirements, user stories, test plans, user acceptance testing, and sign-offs.
  • Provide delivery leadership by coordinating cross-functional business and technical teams to ensure solutions are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and achieve expected business outcomes.
  • Monitor project progress, solution effectiveness, and business value realization while proactively identifying risks, issues, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Data Governance and business teams to establish data ownership, business definitions, data quality expectations, and governance requirements.
  • Experience rationalizing large, complex source systems such as Salesforce CRM, billing platforms, and operational databases
  • Excellent stakeholder facilitation skills — equally effective with domain SMEs, data architects, engineers, and executives
  • Snowflake literacy preferred — you won't write pipelines, but you need to understand how data moves through a Snowflake-native platform
Why KPI Partners:

At KPI Partners, you work on programs that matter — large-scale, complex, real. You're not filling a seat on a staff augmentation engagement; you're a named contributor on a flagship C360 delivery. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, architects, and account leaders who take delivery seriously and invest in the people who make it happen

This is not a junior BA or a project coordinator role. Our domain experts know their business deeply but are not Medallion Architecture specialists. This resource must bring that architectural lens, command the room, and close gaps — not facilitate open-ended discussions without outcomes.
