Job summary

Grid Dynamics in Chicago is seeking an on-site Business Analyst to serve as the trusted link between client stakeholders and our offsite delivery team, translating real-world operations into clear requirements for the engineering team. This role centers on piloting an MLOps toolchain for safety-critical autonomy workflows, starting with stockpile management processes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years as a Business Analyst on complex software or data programs (on-site).
• Ability to translate business needs into specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Strong stakeholder facilitation and issue-resolution skills.
• Experience partnering with distributed or offshore delivery teams across time zones.
• BA certification (CBAP, PMP, CSM) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site ground truth between client stakeholders and offsite team.
• Triage and resolve on-site issues quickly to prevent delays.
• Run regular syncs with the offsite pod to surface gaps and align on demos and acceptance criteria.
• Build shared understanding of the roadmap and value prioritization with client stakeholders.
• Own requirements documentation for the platform workflow and data flows.
• Define and validate demo scenarios and acceptance criteria for platform features with client stakeholders and the delivery team.

Job description

As the on-site Business Analyst, you'll be the trusted link between client stakeholders and our offsite delivery team, translating real-world operations into requirements the engineering team can build against. This is a rare opportunity to shape the foundational MLOps toolchain behind a safety-critical autonomy program, starting with a pilot centered on stockpile management workflows.

Requirements

• 7+ years as a Business Analyst on complex, technical software or data engineering programs, including client-facing, on-site work
• Proven ability to elicit, structure, and translate business/operational needs into specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills - comfortable leading syncs, workshops, and issue-resolution conversations
• Experience partnering with distributed or offshore delivery teams across time zones (e.g., Azure DevOps or equivalent)
• Preferred: familiarity with data platforms/MLOps, autonomous vehicles or safety-critical industrial environments, Co-Innovation/Discovery engagements, or a BA certification (CBAP, PMP, CSM)

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site "ground truth" - capturing and relaying daily updates, sync notes, and open questions between client stakeholders and the offsite delivery team
• Triage and resolve on-site issues quickly, preventing delays that remote-only communication would cause
• Run regular syncs with the offsite delivery pod to surface implementation gaps and align on demo/acceptance criteria
• Build shared understanding of the roadmap and value prioritization with client stakeholders, driving maximum value per delivery cycle
• Own requirements documentation for the platform workflow - business rules, data flows, and operational constraints
• Define and validate demo scenarios and acceptance criteria for platform features with client stakeholders and the delivery team
