Job summary

Goldenrod Services in Omaha seeks a Chief Engineer to oversee and optimize mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life-safety systems across assets. The role combines hands-on leadership with budgetary and regulatory responsibilities to ensure safety, reliability, and cost-effective operations.

You will lead maintenance and craft preventive programs, supervise staff, coordinate vendors, and contribute to capital planning while driving energy efficiency and asset longevity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years operating and maintaining commercial building systems.
• Experience with Energy Management Systems (EMS) and CMMS.
• Construction experience; ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate maintenance, repair, and operations for all building systems.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Lead and mentor engineering staff.
• Monitor building automation and energy management systems to improve efficiency.
• Manage vendor and contractor relationships.
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues with contingency plans.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and inspections.
• Assist with annual budget, forecasting, and capital project planning.
