Job summary

Kiewit is seeking several Sr. Building Structural Engineers to lead the analysis, design, and detailing of complex systems for large-scale vertical projects. You will guide BIM/CAD designers, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with construction teams to deliver safe, buildable solutions.

Base compensation ranges from $160,000 to $200,000 annually, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunity to advance within an employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Professional Engineer license required; ability to obtain in other states; SE license preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in structural analysis and design for steel, concrete and masonry projects.
• Knowledge of national building/construction codes (ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS, etc.).
• Proficiency with structural analysis tools SAP2000, ETABS, RAM and RISA; BIM/CAD experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; minimum 3 years leading/mentoring engineers; project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of projects, ensuring compliance with codes and project specs.
• Perform structural calculations, modeling, and simulations to validate design integrity.
• Coordinate with construction teams and client representatives during design and construction phases.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of designers and engineers to deliver project deliverables.
• Review shop/fabrication drawings, respond to RFI’s and NCR’s, and provide engineering support on site.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage staff assignments on multiple projects.
