Job summary

Kiewit is seeking mid‑career Building Structural Engineers to independently execute analysis, design, and detailing of structural systems for mid‑to large‑scale vertical construction projects. You’ll apply advanced engineering judgment, perform complex calculations, develop refined structural models, and run detailed simulations to validate performance under a wide range of loading conditions.

You’ll work with minimal supervision, driving technical quality, constructability, and code compliance

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year; company will support/licensing.
• 6+ years of structural engineering design/analysis experience.
• Strong knowledge of building codes (ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS).
• Experience with Design/Build or EPC projects is a plus.
• Proficiency with structural analysis tools (SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, SAFE, RISA).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced design/analysis of mid-sized to large projects with minimal supervision.
• Apply building code knowledge to perform advanced structural analysis.
• Develop design and repair scope recommendations for various structures.
• Perform calculations, modeling, and simulations to meet standards.
• Review drawings and QC for constructability and compliance.
• Produce construction documents and specs.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for cohesive designs.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and field NCRs during construction.
• Conduct site visits and mentor junior engineers.
• Willing to travel as needed.
