Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for the Building Group, based in Omaha, NE. You will lead technical and commercial development of building scopes across pursuit and preconstruction activities, coordinating across design, estimating, procurement, and construction operations to deliver cost-effective, constructible solutions.

The role requires leading cross-functional teams, driving schedule adherence, risk management, value engineering, and bid evaluations on major JV projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• 10+ years of engineering, construction, design management, or preconstruction experience.
• Experience with industrial, power generation, energy, or large infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of design‑build, EPC, CM/GC, and self‑perform construction delivery methods.
• Strong understanding of estimating, procurement, scheduling, and constructability principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead early opportunity identification and pursuit planning.
• Coordinate estimating, design, procurement, and operations.
• Develop executable strategies, mitigate risks, and drive value engineering.
• Mentor teams and build client and contractor relationships.
• Support bid evaluations and procurement processes.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field
