Job summary

Vanderweil Engineers seeks a Senior Building Performance Engineer to join our Boston-based team (hybrid role) or one of our East Coast offices. You will collaborate with project managers and design teams to provide energy, water, and carbon-reduction insights for complex projects.

Ideal candidates have 7–15 years in building performance analysis within consulting, and hold a bachelor’s or master’s in mechanical engineering, energy systems, or architectural engineering.

Qualifications

• 7–15 years of building performance analysis or design engineering in a consulting environment.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, energy systems, or architectural engineering.
• Experience interfacing with internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Propose holistic energy, water, and carbon reduction opportunities early in the design process with data-driven support.
• Evaluate architectural and MEP system design to optimize performance and track progress toward goals.
• Lead junior engineers, develop complex energy savings calculations, and provide QA for analyses.
• Research and synthesize energy codes and policies; advise owners and design teams on compliance paths.
• Perform life-cycle cost analyses, solar PV feasibility studies, and water reduction analyses.
